About
KayCee Studios is about exploring the various realms of creative possibilities within digital and offline media sources. My interests run from jamming HTML code for my eBay, and Bonanzle listings, my blog (and this website) to digital photography and scrapbooking. I became hooked on scrapbooking in about 1994 when I attended a Creative Memories home class. I had always loved photography and cataloging my family’s adventures and this opportunity gave me quality supplies and a steady stream of ideas. I quickly signed on as a consultant and began teaching Home Classes and workshops myself.
I eventually found myself neglecting my own projects to run the CM business, but continued to nurture my passion for preserving our memories for my children and family. I have completed many paper albums including: a black and white heritage masterpiece of my in-laws’ wedding photos, a heritage album for my father-in-law’s 70th birthday, a remembrance album for my dad of his time on the library board, grandparent’s albums for three sets of grandparents (sort of updated annually!), my wedding album, my brother’s wedding album, mini-albums for my sister-in-law (birthday/sister celebration), my grandma, my mom (a Hawaii trip), and many more.
In the fall of 2006, I was introduced to digital scrapbooking and my world was never the same again. I realized I had a copy of Photoshop Elements that came free with my printer and we spent long hours in my basement office getting to know each other! We get along quite well now and I have begun designing my own kits, embellishments and templates. I love that I can reuse supplies over and over again. I can change them to match any layout I am doing by adjusting colors and sizes. And the supplies no longer overtake the whole house! When I completed my first all-digital album and printed it out for my friend and myself, I loved that I could make two copies nearly instantly, and could make more if I needed to. No more endless cutting and pasting paper snippets and the repetition involved in duplicating an album for more than one recipient!
